β3 ways to get better with Procreateβ

‘What did you use?’ π©π¨π¨ποΈ
Here are the real heroes behind any mural: amazing products and a good process.
Thank you to my sponsor @duluxaus for the goodies and for all the support and information when I have a challenging project! π
Primed with Dulux metal primer,
Base coat with dulux exterior paint,
Large detailed and snall fades with @mtnaustralia and flame.
More brushwork for finer details with the exterior paint.
We had only a month for this double tank project, a good sprayer made all the difference πβοΈ
You can save this post to remember the products π€

How many times did you wish to ask a professional mural artists how they do ‘xyz’ in their business? π€
Murals changed my life in one year: gave me financial freedom and a lifestyle I’m so grateful for.
I decided to share my whole business model. After seeing incredible results with the artists I mentored over the past year, I refined all my content and poured my business training, my mural industry knowledge, my experience and made a comprehensive program out of it.
It’s all in there: mindset, industry information, mural painting, marketing, sales and more! It’s six months that will change your life.
The content is fun, easy to digest and meticulously organised to help you set up a six figure mural business and a wold of confidence in your creative power.
No, it’s not for everyone. It’s for passionate artists wanting to dedicate their life to their craft. It’s for the hungry, it’s for the motivated. It’s for the people that see value in having a mentor and a support group of likeminded creatives. It’s for the artists tired to split their identity in two.
I’m grateful for all the success stories I’ve been part of..and this program had you all at the centre of it. β€οΈ And it had myself as a beginner at the core of it too: this is what I wish I could access when I first started painting murals. π©π¨
I do not care for haters, jealous business owners or artists with scarcity mindset.
It was all worth sharing just to see my students gain more time with their families, prove to themselves their art matters, creating incredible murals for wonderful clients and communities.. πβ¨π I know where I want to be in five and ten years from now: my students know that too. And we’re working hard to get there, with all the help and support we can get.
The future is looking bright, and the starving artist stereotype has no place in the Mural Nomad’s Business Program.
Confidence starts with preparation. This is for the passionate artists wanting to become thriving business owners.
Applications are now open: link in bio and on my website. Feel free to DM me for more info too π€ the numbers are strictly capped. #muralist #artisthelp

The funniest time actually was at a wildlife centre… to be honest I was invited to have an inspection and see if there are any surfaces I’d like to paint on.. π¬
I was in the zone, trying to take a nice, flat photo of this wall (good photos are important, do you feel me?) when Ben, my husband, said “it’s okay guys, she’s a bit special” I turned around and noticed this confused couple, taking pictures of the dingos in the enclosure next to the very empty and boring wall I was giving all my attention to. Must have looked rather funny..
#hereforthewalls, should I get a t-shirt saying that? π€

Some van spots are better than others!
We’ve been spending some quality time in Esperance with lovely souls.
I’ll be working from here today tackling some design work for my next murals! π©π¨πβ¨
What’s your plans for the weekend?

πFact!
πThat’s why I built my Mural Business Program. The best resource out there for transforming passionate artists into thriving businesses owners. Guys, it’s officially live! *I’m creaming*
Over 500h of work went into these 7 course curriculum, 60+ short classes, practical exercises and support structure.
If it’s relevant to your mural business, it’s in it. Think artist statements and cv, branding packages, contracts, negotiations strategies, procreate design tutorials.. but also mindset and business fundamentals.
A massive thank you to all of you who worked with me with 101 sessions and the original short thriving muralist program for the past year. I learned so much from all of you! π
If you are enrolled, check your emailπ₯π₯π₯access is now granted!
If you want to know more dm me π©π¨ ‘mural business program’ π€

You know what? I think I’d really like to paint more portraits for 2024.
I do get obsessed with things, then bored and in need of a subject change. Even if temporary. Do you feel me? π€£ππ©π¨
What are you hoping to paint more of? Let’s manifest it! β¨π Drop yours in the comments, I’d love to know π€©

Thank you for the fun commission Tractor museum of WA and Whiteman Park π«Ά we loved every second on site π―
A special thank you to my sponsors @duluxaus for the best paint on the market and @haymespaint for the clear coat that protects my bright colours! β¨π
Cheers to the @the_butcher_shop for the great service and support as always π

Wouldn’t it be nice to know what budget are we working with? π
π
I find that a lot of clients/potential client don’t understand we can adapt the final result to cater for most budgets. I find it useful explaining the process and the main components of the costs involved in the execution.
I find some clients are happy to pay more once they understand the why! I personally always give two price options and variations of the design.
How do you handle the dreaded budget discussion? π€ any tips to add here? π

Let me take you on more adventures.. π€
π©π¨When I’m not painting I make sure to enjoy the place I travel to and through..
This was our second time in this beautiful area south of Perth. Some highlights of our stay in the Margaret River region:
- πΊPottery class at Happs
- π» @wildhopbeer
- π· @flametreewines
- ποΈ @bigvalleycampsite
- π Riflebutts Reserve
- π¬ Hamelin Bay
Is this place on your map? π§

This was hard. π«
I realised I don’t like painting cars or mechanical bits and pieces. I was nervous for this commission and made it a bigger deal in my head than needed. A tractor on corrugation was a challenge for sure.. but so glad I accepted and gave it a go! I learned so much and realised was easier than expected. Is one of my rules for the 100mural project to say yes to painting things that make me uncomfortable so I can improve π«Ά
Do you like painting cars/trucks/vehicles? π§ποΈπ?!

Work for exposure, lets talk numbers behind it.. I always thought having a big public mural will result in endless commissions.. did you?
You might remember the chat I did with the amazing artist @shmick and we discussed this live briefly - replay available in my reels - about the fact neither of us ever got a mural out if having a very public mural opportunity, like at a street art festival. I had many one on ones with established artists and got many confirmations of this theory..work for exposure isn’t a great idea. Surprise! π
Not too long ago I got contacted by a lovely lady in Tasmania that saw my mural at a cafe and wanted to hire me for a similar one. I sadly realised it was the first time that was happening..
I get a lot of leads by doing outreach and putting my art in front of people’s faces that way. But it’s a game of numbers and the number of people looking at your art, appreciating it at the right time - when they need a mural - in order to reach out to you then..are pretty small!
I do not recommend working for exposure but if you chose to, be smart about it! π₯What else can the business offer you? Maybe an exchange of services? Advertising your amazing services and progress ok the project directly to their mail list? There are ways to maximise this opportunity, for sure.
Did you ever got more work out if a gig you did for exposure ?

Let’s talk mural signatures! What’s your style? π€
I always hated my long and complicated to pronounce name..I rebranded many times over the years to find a solution to this artist identity crisis! It was a clever copywriter that suggested Mural Nomad and ph buy was I relived when I liked it so much.
I like my signature bold, easy to read and symmetrical. I recently attempted a stencil and loved the concept.
Best tips for people like me after years of struggling:
-keep it simple, easy to read
-first name, nickname, or last name followed by art or studio is a common solution
-dont change it too often or people wont be able to find you on socials
-be sure it’s available as a web domain, email address and social handles before you commit!
Now, tell me your name/signature/tag story! I’d love to now I’m not the only one that struggled π€ͺ

β¨ Hey there, so many new faces here π I better reintroduce myself!
My name’s Patrycja, but you can call me PJ. I’m a full-time muralist wandering this beautiful world, leaving splashes of colour wherever my van roams. π
Born in Poland, raised in Italy, and now rooted in Australia, my past is a colourful mix of diverse experiences. From studying art in Italy to delving into business studies in Australia, followed by a deep dive into the corporate world, I eventually realized I wanted art at the centre of my daily existence.
π₯Taking that decision changed everything, revealing a rather messy but fulfilling path.
After years of balancing canvas art and teaching painting classes with corporate life, the pandemic nudged me toward a new chapter. Amidst the chaos, I found love, a furry companion, and my true calling—transforming blank walls into vibrant tales.
I’m 29 and started painting murals just under 2years ago. Ben and I both gave our passions a real chance and our businesses exploded. He’s a flow state insteuctor and owner of @active_skills π
Somewhere in between painting walls and travelling, I found myself mentoring fellow artists worldwide. From private consultations to regular webinars, I’m all about empowering creatives to thrive by sharing my refined business model and forever-growing library of industry-related knowledge. No gatekeeping here! π€
I’m currently crafting Mural Nomad's Business Program and guiding weekly coaching sessions for like-minded artists focused on murals and growth.
I can't even begin to explain how much unexpected joy and fulfilment this side gig is bringing me. Becoming part of other artists’ journey to success is truly an honour. π₯°β¨
Thank you for following me as I journeyed through Australia for the 100Murals project—currently at 65/100! Each mural tells a story, brings communities together, and supports mental health research.
More than anything, if you're reading this, I hope you get inspired to follow your calling and dare to live a life full of colour.π«Ά

Magical moments from our mural site inspection at the Caversham wildlife park.
I had the most amazing and interesting experiences because of being a travelling muralist.. it’s nuce to meet people that appreciate an artist and their services.
Particularly thankful to Steve and Karl for this VIP treatment and all the unexpected koala snuggles π¨π€ Can’t wait to be back next year!
What’s the coolest mural site inspection you ever had? π

All my murals are protected with @haymespaint single pack anti graffiti but still..nice to see it spotless! Located at the back if a busy shopping centre, I sometimes worry π«£

Here’s the reality about doing mock-ups for mural project and delivering as close as possible to them..
1οΈβ£ Composition and proportion clarity
2οΈβ£ Helps to envision all steps of the mural execution and identify any potential problems
3οΈβ£ Minimises chances of miscommunication with the client about the expected final result
…and makes a cool reel π
Do you create mock-ups for yourself/ your clients when working on your design? I’d love to know π₯°

I was really afraid of painting feathers on corrugation. π not having the safety of a flat surfaces and different brushes to create the lines crucial for making our flying friends looking cool on a mural.. π¨π¦
Sometimes I forget how much experience I gathered since the last time I struggled with something.. anyone else here feels this?
To my surprise I had lots of fun today, back painting after a little break to recover from Covid, and I’m very happy with how’s looking βΊοΈ
To be completely honest it happens all the time. I get busy painting, step back eventually and go ‘oh wow, that actually tuned out really good!’. I’d say I live for that moment now xD
